R52 Auto to MT swap
Auto to MT swap
Hi all -
Following up on my 1st gear thread I need some info on if a AT to MT swap on the R52 is possible. I was able to aquire a 2006 R52-S for basically nothing and would like to turn it into a project/track car. Problem is that it's an auto.
So I want to do a AT to MT swap.
I need to know if this is even physically possible. I can aquire the MT and complete engine from a contact at a local junkyard and other odds and end.
ECS gave me a link to a R53 swap so I want to make sure that physically, there will not be an problems dropping the tranny into the frame.

So here are my questions:
1) Is it physically possible without extreme modifications to the body/subframe
2) The wiring pin out mentioned in the above link, are there diagrams to what is mentioned?
3) Are all the 6spd trannys the Getrag version?
4) The plan is to run a stand alone ECU. Any preference to the Link or the Vi-PEC?
