2010 Mini Cooper s , bought the car a month ago with idle issues, former owner had it at the dealer. The dealer recommended all new plugs and coils, car only has 58000 miles. Also a walnut blast, intake and exhaust. I checked the plugs and coils and found no problems although it did have random miss fire codes. I took it back to the dealer to have them do the walnut blast and it cured the miss fire issues. Still wouldn’t idle, former owner said he replaced the timing chain and gears himself, so that’s where I looked next. Intake cam was off approximately 30 degrees, reset the timing, it idles much better but still has a rough idle and keeps coming up with an unmetered air code. I have reset engine adapt each time I do anything and have checked everything for a vacuum leak and have found none. Confused ?
