Unichip and CarPlay MMI Plus experiences

Hello,

I have a F60 2018 with the ENTRYNAV and I am looking for solutions. What has been your experience with these products? Are the almost as good as OEM CarPlay? I have heard people say on bimmer forums that the audio has been a big downgrade since it goes through aux instead with these units, however through bimmercode someone was able to make adjustments to make it much better even though it wasn’t quite as good as listening through Bluetooth or through usb cable. I don’t mind a very tiny difference in sound quality though. Please let me know your experiences.

thanks!

I was told by Unichip you cannot get CarPlay on an EntryNav unit UNLESS you have the extra bluetooth antenna (for CarPlay). I think they meant WiFi antenna but who knows. They can then install a chip to enable it CarPlay.

AUX audio may well sound better. Bluetooth adds compression.
