SMF (Street Modified FWD) upgrading my Mods and Tunning question
upgrading my Mods and Tunning question
I found someone here to do a tune on my 2004 Mini for all the mods I have on it now. I want to get it setup right to be more competitive in SMF.
My mods on it now are:
Rear swaybar
Adjustable swaybar ends
Strut tower plates
15% pulley
CAI
Miltek sport exhaust
Quaffie LSD
Wilwood big brake kit on front
Stainless steel brake lines
Upper Vibra-technic motor mount
Sprint booster
Megan high performance header
DMF flywheel conversion clutch
Koni performance sport shocks yellow
Hotchkis rear control arms uppers and lowers
H&R lowering springs
IE fix camber plates
ATI Harmonic dampener
My question is this I'm thinking about changing my injector from stock to the JCW injectors, replacing my 15% pulley with a 17% and then doing the tune, what have some of you done to get your Mini R53 setup for SMF?

In order of importance, I'd rank mods for SMF:
- Driver
- Driver
- Driver
- Wheels & tires
- Suspension
- LSD
- Weight Loss
- Power
- Aero
Define competitive LOL What are your goals for the car? Are you still driving it on the street? Given your mod list, a better suspension would probably get you more time than more power. But as Burglar said, Hoosier A7 > other mods, and driver mod > all.
I agree with the others A7 first for SMF, but that said it takes quite a bit of spring to go with that much grip, and it's best to pair the suspension with the tires so you can fit as much as possible
