Strange loss of power

I posted earlier about suspecting I had some sort of turbo problem related to a loss of power but I now don't think it's turbo related. Now that summer is in full swing here in Florida, I'm pretty sure my problem is heat related. I first described the problem as occurring after hard running and then sitting stationary for a few minutes such as at a traffic light. The car is extremely sluggish when leaving from the stop but after a few miles returns to normal behavior. Now that it's so danged hot, all I have to do is drive a few miles, turn if off for a few minutes which lets everything cook under the hood, then start it up and drive away. It's not an immediate loss of power but I go a few blocks, stop at stop sign, then leave and there's no power.

I believe something is warping from the under the hood heat and then after air flow from driving cools things down, it returns to normal condition. So the question is, what can warp and result in loss of power but not throw an error code or show up in any of the operating parameters that I'm monitoring. I run the Dash Command app and can display just about any engine parameter in real time but I've focused on boost and fuel rail pressures primarily and can't see anything in them that correspond to a loss of power.

Try turning your DSC off and see if that makes a difference.

Okay, that's interesting - I'll try it.

Tried turning DSC off, made no difference. Does anyone know precisely what the 'Sport' mode actually does? I believe it changes the mapping of the accelerator response but beyond that I've never seen anything definitive. It could change the turbo boost or valve and ignition timing but does it?
