Questions on Changer Installation

I am installing an after market MD head unit and a MD changer into my 05 MCS. I need to run the cable for the control bus and the L/R analog RCA line level output between the head unit and the changer. I will be unable to use the factory-prep'ed CD changer harness provisioned except tapping into the power and ground to power the changer. The changer will be mounted to the same location of the factory changer in the boot.

What is the best method to route this two cables between the head unit and the changer?

I am concern with:
1) Least dismentling of interior trim/carpet.
2) Clean installation appearance.

From preliminary observation I see two alternate approaches:
1) run the cables by the passenger side door sill under the carpet.
2) run the cables alone the center exhaust tunnel. Not clear how hard is to run under the carpet.

Please share you experience with your similar installation. Pros and cons?

Is your 05 HU a H/K by chance? Several of us looking to get one for our older MINIs for the MP3 capability.

Running the cables under the carpet at the door sill sounds to be the best solution. And easiest. A few screws to take the sill off and slightly pull back the carpet.

Mine is the plain Jane. Never a believer of the over-priced OE sell-up package, HK or not.
