Well, I'm officially back in the MINI family after a "brief" hiatus when I sold my 2004 MCS back around 2006.
Put a deposit down on a fully loaded Iconic Countryman S All4 with black lounge leather yesterday. It just came out of production this week and is assigned transport.
I decided I didn't want to spend the money on a JCW. I'm definitely interested in the Dinan upgrade though. The software boost and an exhaust should be poifect.
Should take delivery in about 4-5 weeks.
Thanks for putting up with my questions!
Good call, your car is going to be beautiful. Make sure you get all the black pieces like the black headlight and tail light rings with the black grille and black door handles.

Where can you get a black grill? I just got a 2019 Countryman in pure white, we had them change the rear lettering to black, and I want to keep going.
Thanks!
And yes, i will be doing some black accessories at some point. Definitely the grill, then probably the beltline.
This build originally had ALLLL the black accessories spec'd but I had them pull them all off. The dealer prices were batpoop crazy.
I think i'm going to go with mustard colored stripes and mirrors.
And a full front clear bra and full ceramic coat. First time ever for both of those items.
I'm obsessive over my cars' paint and I haven't had a black car since the Turbo New Beetle first came out, before my MCS. lol

The Mini accessories site will have all of that. I had all of the black pieces added to my car by the insurance since it is still in the shop from a work truck hitting me. It will look great on island blue, but downright menacing with black.
You could also use Plasti Dip if you want a cheaper option. I love that stuff and if done right it will easily last 5+ years. I also like the matt black look. If you want a glossy finish they also have a top coat for it.
I did it to my my CM grill, light rings and side scuttles because I didn't want the flashy red highlights the JCW comes with.
All those trims comes off easily. The most difficult one are the headlight rings with those tiny clips.

I love the red! hahaha, but as you can see below, i'm kinda biased to red.
I blacked out the grill with the flat black plasti-dip. Been almost two years, still looks great.

I was going to spend the money (ouch) on the black parts and then my car got hit the insurance approved the black parts as replacements. Next are the black driving lights.

At least that's something to ease the frustration you've been going through.
Mine is on the Victoria Highway. Expected to hit Baltimore this weekend.
Dealer says it should be in Galveston, TX by July 5th. Then just needs to head to the Houston dealer about an hour away.
I love the idea of all black, but man that's going to be hard to maintain. My rebel green is super close to black and is a PITA to maintain. I think if I was going to do it again, I'd get a lighter color like grey, white, or silver.

The whole front of the car is getting clear bra'd.
The car is small so the rest shouldn't be too bad. I enjoy the time taking care of my cars. It's my quiet time. lol
And nothing beats the satisfaction factor when it comes to polishing a black car. :D
I've had all kinds of colors. White, black, gray, blue, green, several red. My wrangler is red and that's a lot of vehicle to take care of. The mini should be a breeze in comparison. haha
MINI-USA agent says it was released to carrier yesterday.
So should be on its way. Hopefully getting through Louisiana just in the nick of time before the storm hits. Fingers crossed.
So MINI-USA says it was released from VPC at the Brunswick port and "released to carrier" earlier this week which they say means it was loaded on a truck and heading my way.
My dealer says it was sitting in the port all week and is now back on another boat heading towards Gavelston, TX with scheduled arrival of sometime tomorrow (Monday).
That makes no sense to me but whatever... either way it should be here soon.
Meanwhile... I've been thinking about where I want to take it aesthetically.
Here's a mock-up I've been working on in photoshop. Instead of the usual red I'm thinking of a metallic golden yellow.
Mirrors, and then a stripe that consists of matte black and the yellow. This would run down the back-side too.
Also added the black grill, black light trims, and the driving lights with amber protective film.
