Aftermarket Headunits with Car Functions?

I was just wondering if there is a headunit out there I can replace mine with that still has the car functionality in it? Such as configuring sport mode, checking oil etc. I hate this small headunit my f56 Cooper S came with...

Maybe. I've been researching a possibility. Google CTKBM28 and read up. I have not been able to get great confirmed answers but manufacturer claims it works for what you and I want.

Better make sure that it supports all the functions you want. I've never gotten a clear answer from any of the Chinese companies on this. Usually the answer is as specific as "Yes Dear we support all functions", not "Oil level works as original, etc." I'm not brave enough to go through all that effort for nothing and trying to return one of those is probably not an easy task.

if you youtube it, this does exist for E-series and F-series BMW so it's not far fetched that this exist for us as well.
also, it's aliexpress, which is pretty much like ebay so it does come with some sort of guarantee...would be a worthwhile offseason project.

It's basic nav 2 headunit aka enavevo aka entrynav2. Just look on realoem for basic navigation 2. Post a pic of the rear. It's a magneti marelli so it's definitely touchscreen navigation package 6UM and 6GK. If it were basic headunit 2 it would look similar and same DIN size but say Alpineon top instead. If it has a blue GPS fakra on the rear then it confirms it further.

You can flash those also. And potentially put carplay. However the only solution is real FSC from BMW.

So at that point mind as well get a Evo

I just stumbled across Connects2. Did you ever get an answer regarding the CTKBM28?

Not a solid answer. Some other companies have similar kits and they all pretty much couldn't guarantee that it would do it all.
