2010 R57, cant get Sat radio to acquire signal
Help, I posted this before in another area and am still having the problem.
2010 R57, when I choose Sat radio, it goes to acquire signal and thats all. It doesn't get to a point of finding a signal or giving me the serial number to ask Sirius to activate. I have left it searching for a signal many times for upto 20 minutes, in an open area with clear access to the sky.
So far:
* I've had the latest software updated by Mini last month.
* Swapped another head unit from a car that had working Sat radio and it still gets stuck on acquiring signal.
* checked wires for continuity going to Sat receiver under the pass seat.
* verifed Sat receiver turns on
* plugged an external Sat antenna to the receiver under the seat, still no signal acquired.
* purchased and installed a new roof mount OEM antenna to rule out the antenna and base, still no signal.
Any ideas? and a few questions.
When i disconnect power to the sirius receiver under the seat, the option of Sat radio is not present on the head unit. I assume that means it is functioning when connected. Is that right?
It seems the break in the process is that I cannot acquire a signal, the only thing I havent replaced is the receiver under the seat.
