Toys for Tots in MN?

Looking for something to do this winter with your MINI? How about a group of us showing up with our boots filled with toys to deliver and maybe get a spot on the news?!

Here's an email I got from Kare-11 regarding the dates and times:

The U. S. Marine Corps 2004 Toys for Tots program begins Thursday, December 2 and ends Monday, December 20 at 10:30pm. As media sponsor for this event, KARE 11 will host the Toys for Tots tent on our front lawn during that time. The Marines will accept donations from 10:000am to 10:30pm daily. As always, the Marines appreciate receiving donations early in the campaign so they can distribute them in a timely fashion. Thanks for watching KARE 11 and for your interest in this worthwhile community program.
Any takers? What date should we show up?

Adam

Sweet!

Good to hear it. Not sure what date we're going with yet, but someone mentioned the 19th. I'll keep ya posted.

In the meantime, here's a short text file if you want to place it with a collection box somewhere that just mentions what we're doing.

All,The MINI-sota Motoring Society (MINI Owner's Group of Minnesota) would like to invite you to donate to Toys for Tots (http://www.toysfortots.org) this holiday season.Donate a new, unwrapped toy, by contacting __________ to organize pick-up by December 19th. We will collect your toy and drop it off at a central drop-off location.Sit back and enjoy the thought of making an underpriviledged child happy for their holiday celebration. Thanks and Happy Motoring!

I'd love to join in, especially since we'll be in the Cities the weekend of the 19th, but I'm not 100% sure if we'll have the MINI.

Dog... X-mas gifts... including a cat tree, golf bag stand, wrapped presents, etc... but I really DO want to drive Katie to show it off to family so we'll see.

Plus, my company has already been donating toys, food, and stuff to the soldiers for a few weeks. Could be hard to get more.

That would be awesome! If anything, you could bring a small load and transfer it to a different MINI if needed. Of course we'd love to have as many MINIs as possible, so we're glad to have you!
