key job?

Key job in WV while out of town and visiting relatives!!! Someone took a key or something similar and pounded the pt into the paint about 25 times behind passenger door below window. At A Wally world, no less. Luckily there was not a dent, but they still have to paint the whole rear quarter. But Proggresive said to drop off in the morn and a rental will be waiting for me. Fast service!! Oh well, it's just paint and no real body damage. Just the day after Thanksgiving its not expected. On the bike tonite, but rain and snow the rest of the week!! Tim

Such a pity and so senseless. Sad thing is, it could happen to virtually any of us who motor about the roads daily.

Maybe people feel so inferior that they need to take us down a peg or two because we think we're "so cool." Maybe they're just angst ridden punks who have to deface something beautiful to make the world as ugly as their own darkened and tormented souls. Maybe they're drunk.

(...just speculating)

Anyway, sorry that happened. Make sure your house isn't egged in the near future!!!

So sorry fuzzyfacs. I just don't understand why anyone would do such a thing. Don't they think that if the same thing happened to their car they would feel or .

I just don't get it.

Tim: You might want to contact the store manager. Not that they will help you any, but they usually have security cameras in their parking lots and might be able to provide something useful to the local police. You have to ask fairly soon after the event or they might just recycle the tapes if they use them instead of DVDs. I heard of this happening elsewhere and they were able to identify the perps. And then your insurance company will take it from there.

The first thing I did was to get store security and they said I was too far for the cameras too work!! And they were the ones who thought of checking the security cameras. At least they called the local pd and told me I would need an incident report for my ins company. It was the first thing they asked for when I called to report it. Thanks for the sympathy everyone, I sure appreciate it, Tim

Strange as this might sound, it might have been a bird...

I know what you mean. In our neighbirhood there is a Mockingbird that has been terrorizing a nearby Cayenne. It sees itself in the mirrors and glass and goes absolutely nuts.

If it is, we need to knock the living %$#@* out of that bird.

Luis

Hope your repairs go speedy.

Birds? An idea I never thought of. But the gouges were sharp when you ran your hand over them. And it would be hard to fly into the side in a parking lot on the fri after thanksgiving. Oh Well ,I'll have "petey" back by friday. Thanks for the suggestion, we will never know for sure what caused it, Tim

Yeah! Public too... charge admission & sell hot dogs & beer etc. Funds raised could go to help victims of said crimes.

Can you immagine anything being more humiliating than an adult or teen being publicly spanked (albeit in a brutally violent manner) in front of thier neighbors? Man, the rep damage alone would be a severe deterent. I think for some would-be offenders they look at the best case scenarios - never getting caught or the proverbial slap on the wrist.

It'd definately give some neigh-good-doers the adjustment they're in need of.

Now... if it were a bird? I think a guard kitty is in order. Or capital punshiment carried out by your local KFC

In my scenario, it wouldn't have been a flying accident! Rather, the bird would have deliberately pecked at the paint, maybe on seeing its own reflection in that great wax job you did the weekend before . btw, a pack of kea birds in New Zealand can just about destroy a car if they're in the mood...

You'll never know for sure. In any case, it's a bummer. Hope they do a good job fixing it for you.
