Passenger seat levers not working

Hey,

The seat levers are not working. The passenger seat does not recline and cannot be moved forward/backwards. Are there any common causes? I don't want to replace the seat if I can avoid it since it looks fine cosmetically.

Thanks.

I've had this happen a couple of times, This is what has helped me in the past. https://new.minimania.com/MINI_Seat_..._problem_02_06

it takes more force than it seems like it should, but this has always fixed it for me.

Ive had two issues with mine,. one was the recline fault where the seat back angle didnt want to change, which was fixed with the brute force method above^^^ which worked for me after a slightly terrfying BANG. The other was the tilt and slide access to the rear seats was not working, which was fixed by replacing the release cable as detailed here.

I also had the forward/back slide mechanism jam, but that turned out to be a lipstick that had been dropped into the channel stopping the seat moving.

Good luck.

Pull the lever up and slam your body weight into it, it'll free it up.

+1 Have seen the slam method work, just like theFonziee method on the window motors.

I am just dumb I guess. I didn't understand how all of the levers work. Fortunately they do work. I will try this stuff when things eventually end up like this.

Thanks.
