R56 hub bearings in r53?

Are the R56 hub bearings compatible w/r53's? Any improvement in doing this swap? Can get a low mileage set local. I'm guessing spindles don't work?

Thanks

So you are saying they'll fit appropriately with splines? I'm looking at something stupid...the axles are 1/2" difference and I believe engine side has 34 instead of 26 splines..I bet the difference is the engine. You may have figured out my project or close....lol
