Koni SAS vs the rest...

Hi friends, I swapped out the stock S "sports" shocks and struts on my '06 S hatch to the new Koni Reds in August. Along with changing the run flats to Firehawk 500's, the ride is a dream, possibly a bit too "plush".. :P Three months on, it seems one of the Koni Reds (RF) is making clunking noises on bumps and the shop feels it's gone bad...

I live in LA, so roads are so-so... I am a bit gun shy replacing the offending shock under warranty, because I am concerned I will continue to chase my tail. How much more extreme (stiffer) will the Koni Yellows / Swift Spec-R springs feel or Bilstein B14's feel? I mentioned the Bilstein's because out the door costs will be similar to Koni Yellows / Spring combo...
