Try AllState, State Farm or Progressive. AIG is another company.

As far as I know, State Farm (My insurance carrier) has no problems whatsoever insuring a JCW MCS.

However a spotty driving record/credit report may limit your odds to get coverage, specially in what is considered to be a high powered car.

Our homeowners is with American Family and I was thinking of switching, but I wanted to do some research first.

We insure the house and the MCS with Kemper. They offer a discount for the "umbrella" service. Geico can't touch the cost. Granted, I don't have a JCW kit, but I doubt they would balk at it.

Make some phone calls to the companies I named and others in your area. This is your best bet.

Did Geico say why they did not want to insure your JCW MCS?

State Farm told me my insurance won't increase if i added the JCW Kit, but they won't pay for it if I crash.

That doesn't sound right to me.

Precisely what Gieco said. They treated it like an aftermarket kit. They insure my Mini like its a Stock MCS. So at the present tim, if the car is totalled, bye bye JCW kit.

No, they just stated that they wouldn't insure the "Works" kit.

I was just hoping that there were some folks here who had success insuring it.

My credit is fine and I have no tickets or accidents ever (knock on wood...)

Have you by chance asked if you can add a "rider" specifically for the kit? I know several insurance companies will do this for enhanced Audio systems. They just won't cover the cost in your "standard" rate.

My cousin is a State Farm Agent and has my insurance, I'm going to email him and see if he knows an out-of-the-box answer for this one...
