Weird issue with my moms 2011 R56 where the radio and interior lights come on randomly after the car has been parked and won't turn off unless you get in, put the fob in the holder, put the car in accessory mode then turn it off. We have swapped cars for a week or so at various points and I noticed that it really seems to just do it randomly. Sometimes you will walk by it a hour after parking and all is normal, no lights, no radio. Then you will walk by an hour after that and the lights and radio are on. Other times you will walk by 20 minutes after parking it and they are on. I've thought maybe a door switch, but haven't noticed any door ajar warnings while driving. There are other issues with the radio too, none of the buttons on the face work other than the volume ****, but I cant imagine that that would trigger the interior lights as well. I have searched a lot and can't seem to find anyone who has had the same issue. Any ideas?

 

How old is the battery?

 

About a week old. It's been an issue since she bought the car about a year ago, battery gave out about a week ago and swapped in a new one, still the same issue.

 

Can the same thing be triggered by opening and closing the door?
