Key Fob Question

So I have a '13 Countryman S and I just lost the key fob for it. However, I have my old '12 Countryman S key fob that I never threw away. Same design, size etc except for the actual cut key part obviously. Do you think Mini would be able to re-program the key for my current Countryman without charging me a ton?

Cheers

If you have comfort access and you want it to work as intended you cannot program it yourself. Dealer programming is the only option unfortunately. You can program the FOB yourself to start the car but it will only work if inserted.

I think once a key is programmed, you cannot change reprogram it. Other than going to the dealer, you have two options: the first is to keep looking for the key, retrace your moves amd check between couch cushions etc. The second option is to call a locksmith and get a quote, it might be cheaper than you think.

Sorry, but no. The only way to remedy the problem would be to find the lost fob, or purchase a new one. The immobilizer chip in them is set to your VIN and cannot be reprogrammed, unfortunately.
A locksmith won’t do you any good. It’s a dealer only part, and you must prove ownership with a drivers license and registration before they can order one. The good thing is that it only takes a day or two.
I just bought a new one a couple of months ago.

You will need a new fob. Dealer will need your vin and id to order.
