2012 SAll4 rear tires a mess and handling soft and sloppy

So, I am trying to figure out what the culprit likely is. This is a 70K mi car.

The insides of the rear tires are a mess - not smooth wear and worn out. The rear suspension also seems to be soft and sloppy. Going around a turn and hitting a bump results in the feeling of sideways sway and definitely soft (roll more than normal) almost as if the body is twisting.

I am looking at control arms, springs and shocks. Any thoughts if I'm on the right track or am missing something?

Nothing? No one has had the inner part of the tire wear unevenly and have the rear end get sloppy?

I was hoping for a bit of direction from someone who has been down this road before spending $100 for getting it on a lift to diagnose.

The inside tread wears faster on the rears due to
negative camber, which is worse if the car has been
lowered, and wears faster if the toe is excessive.
if there is a lot of irregular wear, like cupping, I suspect
worn shocks which lets the tires bounce a bit after
hitting bumps or over rough roads. Feathering of the
tread often means excessive toe.

Great, thank you! Yes, it was cupped pretty badly. I installed loaded struts - because the price made sense.

Get an alignment, the toe is probably way off. The R60 naturally has a lot of negative camber, which is something to keep in mind.
