HELP! N14b16a, versus b, and c? Q-Certified ********...
So I'm needing your experience and knowledge with engine replacement on my 2007 MCS. It turns out that my #3 cyl. melted down, blah, blah, blah, and will now be replaced under my extended warranty through the dealership I purchased my car from. Five weeks later and I just got approval from the warranty people. Anyway, it looks like I may have to find an engine as the warranty folk want my mechanic to find one (used), but he cannot seem to find one that the seller would warrant for any length (i.e. STL LKQ).
I have a few questions:
What are the differences between the N14B16A, B, and C engines?
Are any of these more reliable than the previous issues?
Can I put a newer gen engine in without switching the DME, etc?
What would you do?
Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid I can't help but I am curious as to what kind of warranty arrangement you have. How come it is not your dealer's problem where and how to find the parts required for him to fulfill his obligation?
