Purchase of 2013 Hardtop JCW

I'm going to look at 2013 Mini JCW tonight.

I've done a bit of research and looks like the carbon deposits issue was solved with the 2012-2013 editions?

Any other issues I should be aware of?

It's 6M of course and relatively low mileage at 30K.

The 2013 is a solid car with lots of improvements. You shouldn’t have any issues

Just found out it has dealer installed JCW kit.

I searched, but didn't find anything specific to 2013 differences between the two.

Is there a link that shows dealer options details for the 2013 model?

Do you want a dealership hotrod MCS or a real factory JCW? There is a BIG difference and I know as I have owned both.
Whilst the MCS has a JCW "kit" installed it is a good performer, it CANNOT compare with the TRUE factory JCW. The engine internals are very different for a start and you could go on &on.
Do some extensive research ,cost comparisons, and drive one of each and then go with the best value.
Personally I'd go for the REAL JCW but that's me.

Ended up being just the body kit and wheels. Not the engine tune. Also it's the Eclipse Grey and not my favorite color. Probably will wait till I find either the MCS or JCW in the color and mileage I want.

As I found out, clean, factory stock, JCW R58's and R59's are a bit hard to find with low mileage these days. If you are wanting any specific options/packages, the chase will be even more difficult. In the end everyone compromises somewhere as there just aren't a lot of these around. The one thing I would not compromise on though is the factory JCW package with the N18 engine. It is a seriously different car in every area that counts.
