Purchase of 2013 Hardtop JCW
I'm going to look at 2013 Mini JCW tonight.
I've done a bit of research and looks like the carbon deposits issue was solved with the 2012-2013 editions? Any other issues I should be aware of? It's 6M of course and relatively low mileage at 30K. |
The 2013 is a solid car with lots of improvements. You shouldn’t have any issues Mario mQubed Motorsport Manic & RPM Power Tuning |
Just found out it has dealer installed JCW kit.
I searched, but didn't find anything specific to 2013 differences between the two. Is there a link that shows dealer options details for the 2013 model? |
Do you want a dealership hotrod MCS or a real factory JCW? There is a BIG difference and I know as I have owned both.
Whilst the MCS has a JCW "kit" installed it is a good performer, it CANNOT compare with the TRUE factory JCW. The engine internals are very different for a start and you could go on &on. Do some extensive research ,cost comparisons, and drive one of each and then go with the best value. Personally I'd go for the REAL JCW but that's me. ISAMIN |
Ended up being just the body kit and wheels. Not the engine tune. Also it's the Eclipse Grey and not my favorite color. Probably will wait till I find either the MCS or JCW in the color and mileage I want.

How much was it listed for?

As I found out, clean, factory stock, JCW R58's and R59's are a bit hard to find with low mileage these days. If you are wanting any specific options/packages, the chase will be even more difficult. In the end everyone compromises somewhere as there just aren't a lot of these around. The one thing I would not compromise on though is the factory JCW package with the N18 engine. It is a seriously different car in every area that counts.
