My driving lights do not turn on

With all the rain we’ve gotten lately, I figured id use my front and rear fog lights.

Come to realize that my bumper fog lights operate just fine but my factory driving lights do not come on with the bumper lights.

Is there a seperate switch to activate them? Or did I booger something up when installing my larger Intercooler? I didnt confirm operation before i removed bumper for I/C install.

The driving lights (projector lights in front of the grill) only turn on with your headlight high beams.

In older MINIs, like my 2006 JCW, you have to activate a switch once the car is turned on so that the driving lights come on when you activate the high beams. Also on my 2006, the fogs shut off when I switch from headlight low beams to high beams and switch back on when I return to low beams.

I was under the impression that all MINIs operated this way.

Thats a shame... i’ll confirm when I get home.

wonder if theres a way to re-wire so they operate with low beams manually (switch?)

Yes,

How they work and install.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t-working.html

How to mod them, but they come on with brights for a reason as they will be upright and might blind oncoming traffic. If you put them on a toggle, just only use them when no one else is on the road.
