The APP requires the use of a OBD2 Bluetooth - D-CAN/K-Line Adapter that must be purchased.

To answer your question, No, I use Bavarian Technic interface and software.

Bit late to the party, but just tried this and it seems to be working. Was able to clear the errors, and read some values from the ECU's.
