My outside temp warning light came on and said it was -37b but it was actually +82. I turned it off when i stopped and restarted and the yellow engine light came on. What does this mean?

The outside sensor is damaged. I believe this will indeed code up a check engine light

Yep the sensor is bad or the wire/socket going to it which that repair kit above will help.
