URGENT!! MINI's Wanted for Parade in Greater LA!
URGENT!! MINI's Wanted for Parade in Greater LA!
Hey Everyone,
We're looking for MINI's to participate in the 6th Annual Veterans Day Parade hosted by the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare Syhstem.
The parade is on Wednesday from 10am to 12:30pm. Veterans Day is Nov. 11, so unfortunately, the parade isn't on a holiday.
We are expecting over 600 people which includes city, state and local officials, officials from local military units, local news, students and veterans. There will be marching bands, drill teams, and an Air Force flyover by the "Condor Squadron".
There are a lot of MINI's on the westside---it will start on San Vicente Blvd near Barrington--so if you can spare a few hours, that would be really great! We're working with a local MINI dealer as well.
If you've got a Cabrio, we need those too!
So please post here or email me if you are able to help us out.
Thanks!
OctaneGuy

The parade goes from 10AM to 11:30AM. The Formal program goes from 11:30Am to Noon.

Hi Richard,
Thanks for getting the word out on this parade. I know it's in the middle of the week but hopefully there are some of us who can join in the fun.
The VA asked if we could decorate our cars so if you have flags or red, white & blue decorations to add this would be great! And I am sure they'd be happy to have the Union Jack on the MINIs... we were allies during the WW's!
Thanks again!
Nancy

I'll give you my Octane Shower Gel and Re-energizing Gel, and any other stimulant to keep you awake for a couple hours for the parade.

I think we can do something like we did for our Memorial Day event.
I was just thinking if Jirawan can participate with her RED MINI, and I've got my Indy Blue, then we just need a Pepper White.
Thanks for the headsup!

Q. What is the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day?
A. Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle.
While those who died are also remembered on Veterans Day, Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served - not only those who died - have sacrificed and done their duty. A complete history of Veterans Day, and why it is observed on November 11, can be found on our Veterans Day History Web page.

We are planning to show up with our MCS. We drove down from the Seattle area to visit family in Southern California for the week. Are there any special instructions other than arriving at the gate on Gorham Avenue before 9:45 am?

Hi Matt!!
Tha's teriffic! Please arrive at the gate no later than 9:45--earlier is better. The bulk of the group is planning on arriving by 9:30 as they won't permit you to go past the gate after 9:45.
Decorate your MINI if you can, though it's not required. If you got any flags that would be perfect!
Mention you are with c3 MINI Cooper Club (Cooper Club for Charities) in case they ask.
We are expecting about 7 or 8 MINI's to be there tomorrow which is fantastic considering it was only 2 confirmed just a week ago. LOL
Call me on my cell if you need anything--310-985-0333 or my home at 310-578-5447
Send me an email so I can include you on the email list that's going out tonight about the parade.
Thanks!
Richard
