Everything seems to be coming together as planned, and it looks like I'll be picking up a 2003 Electric Blue Mini Cooper S within the next week or so.

It's equipped exactly how I wanted: premium, sport, cold weather, Harman Kardon stereo, leatherette, 17" wheels, roof, etc., and has a black roof and mirrors - something I REALLY like. The car only has 15,000 miles on the clock and I'm getting it for an EXCELLENT price.

Is there anything in particular that I should look out for? Any recommended upgrades/mods? I'm a total noob to all things Mini, but I have driven a couple and fell in love. My current ride is an '04 VW R32 (which I'm selling in case anyone is interested), but I see the Mini as a fun car and a great value.

So why are you getting rid of the R32? Thats a pretty nice car. What are you selling it for?

 

Here's the scoop...

My company gives me a nice car allowance every month. I am leasing the R32, and every time I send in my payment, I can't help but think that I could be using my company's money to BUY a car instead.

The R32 is an AMAZING car...I know I'm going to miss a lot of things about it, especially the exhaust note. But given the circumstances, I feel it's better to use my money to buy something, or at least build equity in a vehicle.

I'm only looking to sell the R32 for my lease payoff amount - right now it's at $25,400. My car is Reflex Silver with Black Leather.
