Ordered my MINI in the NY Area!

Hello all.

I just ordered my 05 Mini CooperS. The total came to 24,000. I got the full sport package, sunroof, HK Sound. Expected delivery date is the first week of Dec. Hassel Mini in Freeport was a nice experiance. By far the easiest purchase I've ever made. I got almost 1500 off the actual list price of the car with the options. I am extremly happy. Can't wait to drive it!

Gee, lets check the math here. I just bought an 05 MC/S, with metallic paint, Sport pkg, full Premium Pkg, HK, and Chrono Pak - it listed at $25,169. You say yours, without the chrono pak, or full Premium pkg listed at $25,500?

What color combo and interior specs did you decide on? That's always the toughest part - but really makes the MINI your own

I got a sexy Chili Red S with Black Top, Black Mirrors, and Black Bonnet Stripes. I went with the all Black Leather interior with Entracite(sp?) Dash kit. I was thinking of getting a Red Dash kit, but I felt it was too much.

Sport Package + Sunroof + HK Sound.

You got a delivery date of the 1st week of December? Mine is supposed to be built week 48, and my estimated delivery date is end of December.

What is your build week#?

Congrats!

Your date seems wrong because it takes about eight weeks to build and received a car. My friend ordered one this week and he's looking at the end of the year or first week of Jan 2005.

It is possible that Pat was able to take another person's slot, who dropped off the waitlist. But, in general it takes about 3 months from the time of ordering to take delivery. That was true for both of my MINI purchases. I ordered Wanda Jan. 13, 2003 and took delivery April 4, 2003 from Long Beach MINI in SoCal.

That could very well be true...but I recall it takes two weeks to build it so it's already in the process of being built since this is the first week of November?

My MCSC only took 6 weeks. Started production a few days after I placed my order, as the dealer just inserted my order into a place where a regular S was on order for stock. I am also in the NY area. Good luck!

I guess that's possible then. It took eight weeks for the west coast. The first week of December is five weeks away so are we are still a week short on making the target date? Plus, someone has a week 48 date and that was towards the end of Dec so week 47 is pushed three weeks ahead?

Anyway, just something to think about...

Hopefully, you get in in the first week but with that discount even waiting a couple extra weeks is worth it.

Ah yes now that I think of it, when he showed me the list he said these are whats available. So it was basically already built but without my options or the paint job. So maybe I took someones spot? He told me production starts at the beginning of each month. He just didn't throw the date in the air, he went and spoke to the manager so I supposed they discussed it. Well I hope so. When he looked at the car online, it showed 48th week, and when we finished my order it said... 47th. He said the number will drop as days go because he set the priority to 1 since it is sold. Maybe hes blowing smoke but either way...I will own one

Basically, Yes and No, I added my options and then basically came to a total and then I talked him down. I got the car for that much including Tax, and Destination fee and etc.

Now all I need to do is try to get a low apr on my finance.

So technically yes Below MSRP with OPTIONS. If you dont get any options I don't think they would really move on the price.

One more note. They are really nice and ask for Steve. Just be agressive but nice. Let him crunch the numbers and then show you the price. He tried to sell me alot of options that I basically thought of useless because I wouldnt find myself using them really.

Let him give you the full price right off the paper. Start crunching the numbers infront of him, and then change it to a really low number. Something that you know he wont go for. Then hell counter offer. I'm sure I dont need to explain this but Steve was really nice and got me a great deal.

Give him the good ol' "This is great but what can yo do for me? This is a bit steep"

You are going to love your new MINI. Welcome to the club.

But when I went to Hassle, that's what I got! No road test, no interest in showing the car. (03MCS)

Wound up going to Mini of the Hamptons. Now I get my car picked up and a loaner dropped anytime it needs anything. But I paid MRSP for mine!

regards,
Red
