Hi

I know that the wait for the MINI can be especially long, but my question is where can I find a DECENT dealer in California that can get me a MINI in 3-4 months time for a custom spec. MINI Cooper w/out paying a premium/mark-up? I have been to East Bay and they are super nice but the wait is far to long I would need the car sooner since I am back in SoCal for my spring semester at my art college in Laguna Beach and I especially need the car at that time because it is the beginning of my senior year. I can't afford the mark-up or forced dealer add-ons some of the other dealers are forcing the customer to get either since it will take away from the options that I would want in my Cooper. I am also very choosy as to what I want on my MINI Cooper as well so I am not going to settle for something that isn't what I really want. I really need some advice from you MINI owners I would greatly appreciate any of your comments!

there are 3 dealers in SoCal that would be worth dealing with. Long Beach, pay MSRP but wait (rumors are over 6 months). Crevier in Santa Ana, get a MINI in your time frame but pay about 2K over. and Irvine, which I really haven't heard about, but would imagine that there is some mark up. I went with Crevier and they have treated me well so far, and I really don't mind too much paying over MSRP, especially since they are convient for me.

Go out of state. Take a couple days of vacation and have a great time bringing your baby home.

Roadshow MINI in Memphis has been great with my out-of-state sale, and I got the MINI of my dreams for only about $400 over MSRP (silly dealer fees), but I was able to buy it right off the boat and get it NOW instead of next fall.

Give Dorian a call at 901-365-2584. If you tell her that Yucca sent you it won't give you a better deal, but I know that she will appreciate the referral from her silliest customer.

Take a trip to Chicago. You know a MINI vacation. Bill Jacobs MINI is wonderful!!!
You should give them a call and see what they can do for you.

If you decide to purchase outside of California and drive home Towne MINI in Buffalo usually has some regular MCs in stock with a variety of different options. Recently, they also had several MCSs available due to the original buyers having to cancel their order.

They are also experienced in selling to out-of-state customers and have sold a few to individuals in California.

Good luck.

Hello
Give Irvine Mini a try. I ordered MC in Late October and it went into production today. Looks like I am in the "Can't wait for January crowd".

My experience with Irvine Mini has been positive. Everyone has taken their time with my and all of my stupid questions, not to mention my constant visits.

JB

BRG/W Mc with the works. Now in production 11/24/2002

btw...
Irvine does have a 1K markup, but... you can negotiate accessories to get "something" for your money

Hi Again

Thanx for all of your advice and comments! I wouldn't mind buying a car from out of state, but since my parents are getting this car for me I am at the mercy of what's the easiest way for them. I have talked to them about buying a car out of state and they think it is too much of a hassle

Try MINI of concord. While I was looking for a dealer I gave them my email and over the weekend I got an email that they had some on the lot. I assume you'll have to pay a nice markup but that's what you get for not paying your dues and coming to this website and having to watch everyone else enjoy their MINI while you wait for that call that your name came up and you can FINALLY place your order. I placed my order in August at dealer #1 and in September at dealer #3, and the MINI won't be here until late March.

Hi, Digi!

If you want a Cooper and not an S, I think you can get one quickly from Long Beach MINI. Give Matt Limburg or Tony Lage a call there. Tell them I recommended them to you...they sold me mine! Toll-free: 800-794-4269.

Once my order was taken it took about 3 months to take delivery. They are strictly MSRP, too. I spec'd mine out exactly the way I wanted her and I am SOOOOO happy! Best of luck to you!

Cheers!

I bought from Roadshow (another prop for Dorian, she's great!) MINI in Memphis and I live in Oregon. Paid MSRP. They are extremely dedicated to customer pleasure. I've had MANY in-state car purchases that were far more obnoxious and difficult. They send everything via Fed-Ex nextday. No haggle.

why would it be a hassle for them to buy out of state. All of the paperwork can be done via fax... The hassle will be for you to have to fly somewhere and drive the MINI home. That doesn't seem like a big deal to me!

All MINI dealerships will honor the warranty.... You are much luckier than most of us you actually have a MINI dealer nearby for service.

Buy out of state. It's no big deal. I am buying from Bill Jacobs located in Chicago and I am out of state. They are very good to work with. All paperwork is being done via fed-X and they are helping me purchase it before the car is delivered to beat a sales tax hike in my state of residence effective 12/1. You can fly to O'hare (bet they would even pick you up from the airport) and drive back to the coast. What a great way to get you break-in mileage.

My vote is for Irvine if you HAVE to buy in state. I know Long is a "no-mark-up" dealership but they really play games with who's going to get to order. If you can talk to your parents and convince them out of state is really no problem Nick at Mini of Murray is where I'd go. Salt Lake is a $42 one way ticket on Jet Blue from Orange County and it's 3 hour flight at the most. Then 15 minutes from the airport is Mini of Murray. It's a good 10 hour drive home on the 10 FWY, but you have cell coverage most of the way and a stop in Las Vegas to boot!
Give it a try, call nick and put him on the phone with your Dad. He'll be more than happy to place an order for you!
