Interior/Exterior mcs trailer hitch
I am getting this trailer hitch for my MCS very soon.
You can see an example on a closed Ebay auction here:

I contacted the seller today and he is sending one out to me. A real nice guy and he also makes an incredible safety roll cage for those of you more serious about racing than towing. . . .

I'm not giving up on a reciever-type hitch. Just did an exhaustive search, so if I missed something, take it easy on me.
I saw a post a while back regarding a reciever hitch which exited via the back up light opening. I PM'd the guy who said he'd fabricated it, but never heard back. ANy of you guys remember seeing that post?

It looks like it bolts on fairly easily... I think its a pretty good design, as long as its made of durable materials and is welded together well. Who cares what the car looks like when you're pulling a trailer? Remember, you're pulling a trailer.

I am modifying a quality Cooper hitch from drawbar (currently) to receiver type. You can see this mounts more substantially to the chassis. It would then be more able to handle PWC & other light trailers, bike racks etc. Is there an S owner in Tampa area willing to experiment with their car to develop an version of this to exit out of the reverse lamp hole? Probably in drawbar form (?) Email me direct.

Mark me down as one who would buy one of these from you as well if you're able to get them manufactured. I'm looking for a fairly beefy uption to be able to flat tow my classic Mini behind my Cooper S.
Thanks!

This is still in the works. The Cooper hitch is about done but was delayed as my Cooper got smashed (in the rear) and I won't have it back until the 24th. I still need an S volunteer car for trial design???????Tampa I4-I75 area???????
I have had a hitch fabricated for the Cooper or the S. I will be selling them for about $350. I need a local(Western Washington State) to test the tooling on the unibody. I need to make sure there are not going to be any problems. A discount for that Mini is probable. The amount will be determined by the number of emails I get who are interested. thejunkman@thurston.com The receiver will exit through the rear bumper air vents on the S, or through the reverse light on both models. Your Choice.
After looking at what's available, I took the heat sheilds and mufflers off of my 2003 MCS and designed a receiver hitch that exits thru the back up light hole. I'll probably get it build yet this week. I may market the plans, hitch, or nothing. Those interested, e'mail me at savilrg@mtco.com

For the Mini S:
I have the Rogue exhaust with trailer hitch; this places the outlet pipes outboard and the hitch in the center within the old exhaust cutout.
The whole unit is for sale: from the cat/flange back, complete with hangers and a very pretty custom made Y joint, resonator and mufflers, plus hitch. New price is over $800; I want $500 plus shipping.

I had a 1.25" receiver hitch built which comes out the back up light hole. I relocated the light to the bumper vent (right). Fits nice, works great. With the receiver remove, it is almost invisible. I thought about marketing it, but due to liability/insurance concerns, it is not practical. Anyone interested can e'mail me and I will send pictures & tips. Once you drop the mufflers and remove the heat shields, the hitch is easy.
