Hi, I have a 2015 Cooper S convertible. I lover it but hate the small wing mirror. does anyone know if the bigger wing mirrors that are on the 2016-2018 models can be retrofitted on the 2015 models? the base looks very similar.
Has anyone tried?

Nope 2 different bodies on the R57 vs the F57.

 

Olivier- If you mean replacing the entire mirror assembly rather than just the mirror glass, then it might be possible. The factors that you would need to consider include the wiring, the angle of the mount (looking from the front of the car, would the F56 mirror hang too low or too high?), and how the F56 mounts to the door compared to the R56. I'd start on the last two things first because you can check them through the internet....check ebay for pictures of used F56 and R56 mirrors to see if their mounts appear similar. Check for pictures of F56's and R56's to see if the door profiles viewed from the front are similar. The wiring is another matter.....a Bentley manual can help with the R56 wiring diagram...not sure how to look at the F56 wiring.
