Most of the LOTSC badges lose paint. Like mine it was bare metal.



I asked around where i could buy a new one. But I really wanted to keep the original badge with the original #58/100 Coop.

Finding the right paint was difficult at first because I wanted to use a needle tip applicator to "fill" the badge rather than paint it. Ended up buying a scratch repair paint from Dupli-color on Amazon.




Used a Dinowax degreaser. It's concentrated, so i used it full strength. the bug guts were a PITA.

Painted the first coat, the rippled texture of the badge really soaked this stuff up..




With the tight parts and letters I let the paint run over them and used the abrasive tip to clear the inlays after it dried for a little.

This is the Finished product.

Man, I'd love to have one of those...badges - I think it's OK on a 2006 hardtop :P

 

Thats great yea those badges are NLA. You should post up in here so people can do this if they still have it.
