R55 HiFi System - Rear Speakers - 6x9 Components?

Based on what I've read in a number of threads here, my 2008 Clubman S with the HiFi stock system has 6x9 woofers in the rear, as well as a pair of tweeters back there. Each woofer having it's own channel from the amp, and each tweeter having it's own channel from the amp. Right so far?

So, if one were to replace the rear speakers, would it not be a good idea to replace them with 6x9 components, that is to say a separate woofer/tweeter set up like this?

Changing out the rear speakers is a lot more difficult than changing the fronts. You should start with changing the front door woofers with the HK units from a 2010-2014. That's all I did with mine several years ago, it really improves the bass. You can usually find them on ebay for around $75 for the pair.

BJS, thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I know the fronts are where the action is, but here is my issue. I've got a blown speaker in the rear. Drivers side rear woofer is toast. Even if I fade all the way to the front, the rears still get "some" (admittedly, a very small amount) power, and I can hear it back there, scratching away.
