I want to add puddle lights to my 2017 copper s and not sure what options I have.

Are the puddle lights under the door or in the side view mirrors on a 2017. Would love to add puddle lights to my side mirrors if it is possible?

They are under the doors on the coopers. I have a 2017 f55 and I bought these https://new.minimania.com/MINI_Cooper_LED_Puddle_Lights___Lenses
I haven't installed them yet but seems straight forward. One warning I've read is that they should only be on for 5 mins or less at a time to avoid burning the imagine.

 

Just saw a mini Convertable with the puddle lights on when the doors are close. Not sure if it was coming from the side view mirror or the door handle. I would like to get this upgrade if possible. I think its better than the puddle lights that come on only after you open the door.

 

Under the doors. New Clubman has them in the mirrors I believe

 

There are 2 sets of puddles lights.
One is on the bottom side of the door handles, and another under the door frame, for when th door is opened.

 

Any chance of upgradeing to the puddle lights in the door handles?

 

On the 2017 cars, there are no puddle lights if the car is not equipped with the MINI Excitement Package. I left that one off, but would like to add them, but not sure if the wiring is there for them.

 

Any way to change the door handles in order to get the puddle lights that come on when the doors are closed. I saw a Convertible S owner click his key to unlock his mini in a parking lot at night and the puddle light come on. Very Cool !!
Is the wiring in the door exist to do this upgrade ?

 

Yet another feature that changed from standard to extra cost option.

 

I wouldn't mind paying if its possible to upgrade to the lights in the door handle
