Factory JCW Suspension Q

New owner of a factory 2012 JCW here; Ive heard many conflicting descriptions of what should be on my car for springs and sways..

My Q- factory JCW come with 'JCW sport' suspension or some other variant? Some folks have mentioned 'red' springs.. but Im not sure if those only come with the JCW performance pack, typically installed on an S?

Any ideas?
Any clarification?

Before researching upgrades, I like to have an understanding of what/where I am starting from...

Thank you.

Factory JCW comes stock with the same suspension as the S. Sport suspension is a $500 option, and then there's the additional JCW suspension as an aftermarket option. I think this is the JCW aftermarket suspension: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/33500429708/ and then you need to order the red springs appropriate for your model JCW: https://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/Jcw_Spring/

In short, there's 3 tiers for the fJCW:
- stock: same as S
- sport: $500 option
- JCW: red springs, stiffer than sport

Thanks for the reply!

*I've driven an S.. my JCW is lower, sharper/tighter.. can I assume I have the sport suspension? Springs are black..definitely not red.

**do you know if the ride height is the same between the sport and reds? I don't want tighter, but could use lower.

Look up your option list on bmwvin.com (need the last 7 of your VIN) and if you have option 226 that's the sport suspension. I am not sure if ride height is changed with sport suspension vs JCW reds, according to some forum posts the stock and sport are the same and JCW reds lower about 10mm
