Brakes

Okay read through the FAQ and didn't see anything mentioning brakes there. So I searched through the internet and found a rule listing stating
  1. The make and material of brake linings may be changed.
  2. Substitution of clutch and brake hydraulic lines with solid metal or braided metal is allowed on all cars manufactured before model year 1992.
  3. Alternate brake bleeder fittings such as "Speedbleeders" are permitted They may serve no other purpose.
So to stay stock I can change fluid and pads, but does the lining include rotors?

Ok I'll be a smarta$$... does lining sound like rotors? Lining is the friction material of pads and shoes.

The short answer is Yes you can replace the rotors (they wear out) but you have to replace them with OEM or equivalent. No drilled or slotted rotors, no big brake kits, etc

So putting on some EBC's pads would be fine but the power slots wouldn't.

So what aftermarket rotors do people use? Or do most just use the OEM rotors?

I don't worry about my brakes...........they just slow me down anyway.
But seriously, If the rules don't say you can..then you can't.

I'm assuming that the stock brake lines aren't braded (my mini is on a boat currently, so I cant look). My first "mods" will be better pads, fluid, and bradded lines. I have goodrich lines on my other auto-x cars and it makes a noticeable difference in brake pedal feel.

Since this is the G Stock forum, I'll say that braided lines are not legal for Stock class.

For Auto-X, a waste of time and money. Run stock out of the box and tighten the nut behind the wheel.

Actually, classic original Austin Minis and Mini Coopers (like my '61 Austin Cooper) are still in HS (p. 152, 2005 Solo II Rules). I forgot that they purged the original S's from Stock a few years ago. Too bad...
