I've noticed this before, but it always gets lost in the chaos that is my brain, but this time i've actually remembered... the black plastic trim on the drivers side is smooth w/the countours of my MINI... on the passenger side it flairs out at the bottom, giving it a bit of a 'lip', so to speak. It's solid, and it doesn't look like it's due to some sort of accident on the boat.. Is this normal? Do i have two different trim parts on my MINI?

Mine appear to be the same.

Let me see - that's 2 for and 1 against. I demand a recount. Check the machine for chad.

I notice the same on my S, even on the model that they display in the showroom on the time I picked up the car on the dealer.

The passanger side fender has a slighty wider gap between the bumper and the bonnet. Perhaps it's because incorrect adjustment of the bonnet or the fender?

It's not the fender, it's the black plastic part at the bottom... hummm... ok... now who's plastic follows the curve if their MINI, and who's flairs out? Maybe someone picked up the wrong part (M1 or MC part?)...

and personally, I like the smooth side better... I seem to get more dirt tar marks on the puffed out side....

Are you speaking of the black panel "below" the door on the outside? If so, the MC is supposed to be "flat" (both sides), and the MCS is supposed to be "contoured" (again, both sides); sort of like the 3 series BMW's used to have.

If this IS what you're speaking of; even my "model" MINI's are as described above (on both the MC and the MCS models I purchased).

Hmmm, I don't have mine yet but I'll look.

Could you post a pic with the area of concern? I don't know where you mean.

THX!

It's the black plastic part on the bottom of the car on the side.. you know, the 'outline' on the MINI.. but if someone can tell me where i can post a pic really quick/easy (i do have webspace finally, but i just haven't got around to trying it out yet) i can post some pics...

Here's an interesting answer! It shows you how to REPLACE the "standard" MC flat sided plastic pieces on the bottom, below each door; with the MCS version of the same parts (and what parts to order!).

http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...threadid=13274

Hope it helps with "what part" we're talking about!!

Yeah, you've got the wrong part on one side. The MC and M1 have the "flat" sides, and the MCS is supposed to have the "flared" panels.
