General MINI TalkShared experiences, motoring minutes, and other general MINI-related discussion that applies to all MINIs, regardless of model, year or trim.
I am looking to sale my 05 JCW mini and wanted to know what would be a good asking price we just got two kids and the mini isn’t the care for the job any more. Over the last year I put a lot of work into it and everyone that has seen it has raved at how well it looks. it also has the harman kardon audio system
Rebuilt the heads
New ac compressor
New serpentine belt
New tires
New motor mounts
New alternator
New control arms
And a host of other odds and ends that have been done by mini, short of a power steering fan, the mini dealership has been the only people to touch this car since I had it. It also comes with a warranty that is transferable and good for another 15 thousand miles (it has roughly 90k mile on it now). The only dings are a rear drivers side light that is cracked, a front drivers side speaker that comes on and off, and a chip in the front windshield.
I know it's a dealer JCW which is why the badges are in odd places. Has the JCW logo on the super charger and the JCW pully. It's the first year there was.a JXW option from mini in the states and it was a dealer installed $6800 option.
MINI introduced the JCW option in the US for the 2002 model year. At that time it was a dealer installed package but it did not have a LSD. Later in the 2005 run, the JCW became a factory installed option that included LSD. I am thinking that as your package appears to be dealer installed the car does not have the LSD. It appears your car has the JCW Aero package that many consider a very nice option.
As far as what the car is worth, I am thinking you could get as many "guesstimates" as there are members here. I suggest you review KBB, Autotrader, Craigslist and the Marketplace here on NAM to get some ideas. A knowledgeable MINI owner will pay one price and the person on the street will usually go by KBB, which is a lower price.
