Interior/Exterior Making a Carbon Fiber lip
Making a Carbon Fiber lip
Today i started my custom carbon fiber splitter
. i figure why spend almost 200 bucks on one when i can build one for 45 bucks. i dont know if you guys have heard of tap plastics, but they sell raw carbon-grapite fiber, sick stuff. 35 bucks for a 4 wide by 3 piece pretty much. going to have some pics soon of the finish product. took about 3 hours to do and was not that hard to apply all the resin. going to be sick. i am going to see if i can run it without those metal deals that you get with the m7 one. i dont like those
. seeing i am to low to run a hamman one and that new carbon fiber one that someone posted about. so instead of like the m7 one i am going to make some spacer type deals and make it lower
dont ask. i will figure that out. hope to have some pics up soon.

I think you can appreciate that they are supporting their families by selling their products and people purposefully trying to bash their products for others gain is just plain wrong. If he continues to bad mouth M7 with no reason but to cause financial harm to them I will take it upon myself to defend them. If I have a problem with their parts I will be the first one on here letting people know what I think.
This is the most frustrating things about these boards... people think it is their god-given right to say anything they want without any proof what-so-ever WHEN THEY HAVEN"T EVEN TRIED THE PRODUCT. I refuse to say something is bad until I have tried it.... what kind of normal person would think otherwise? I will continue to buy parts for my Mini regardless of the vendor as long as it suits my purpose. Somebody comes up with something better... fine .... bring it on
Please remember that vendors have alot at stake and saying on a forum like this that such and such just sucks because I think it does.... doesn't cut the mustard.... all I ask for is integrity... nothing more ... nothing less
this in no way an attack on you, just frustrated with the board system
I agree with you 100% about supporting the venders. But try to find a different way of defending them. By attacking the person and his post you are diminishing your credibility, not defending the vendor.
Try a different tact and I am sure the message will be better rec’d
We are all entitled to an opinion and are allowed to voice those opinions in this forum. I just took offense to your personal attack.

Don't mind Diablito, folks. He's a bit of a hothead.

I'm confused about your plan...If you dont have the "metal things" and if its lowered, then you are losing both the adjustability AND the entire function of it. If air is able to go over and under it (because you have spacers to lower it) , then how is it supposed to create any downforce? The entire idea is to direct air up and over the front of the car. If its lowered, the air will be able to go over the splitter but still go under the car...i dont think its gonna work? Maybe i misunderstood your plan? Sounds cool though
What kind of UV sealer are you gonna put over it?
How thick is the stuff you are gonna be using? Awhile ago, i was looking around for raw stuff, but it was all pretty thin, and without being overlayed onto another layer, it tended to be pretty flimsy. Do you plan to add some resin and add a new layer if you got the thin stuff? The reason i ask is becase diffusers dont tend to help until you read 70+ mph, so you would want this stuff to be rather sturdy.
