Thanks for the replies. I've purchased new parts.

My rear fog light popped out and rested against my exhaust. Result in pic above.

Anyone have a rear fog light assembly for sale?

Thanks.

I have an extra white back-up light from a pre-facelift MINI. You'd have to cover the lens with some kind of translucent red to replicate the fog light. Just PM if interested.

Is that the harness/connector and socket melted in there, too?

Unfortunately, yes. I didn't realize my exhaust is a flame thrower.

red = fog light for a bloody proper EU Mini
white = pre-05 gen 1 Mini reverse light

I have one. It's like new, still in the original box. I bought it so I didn't have to stare at the useless nonfunctional black cover under the bumper. Had it in for a couple of weeks, then it started to annoy me that it wasn't functional, so I swapped it for the reverse light and wired that in so it worked in conjunction with the ones in my tail lights. You can have it for $20 shipped. Comes with the bulb and socket. No harness though.

If you live in an area with a lot of inclement weather, the red rear fog may be more useful to you. That assumes you use it responsibly and don't blind people in clearer weather.

Since I live in Georgia and the stock reverse lights on my '05 MCS suck, I am probably going to wire in the clear one as an additional reverse light.

On an '06, the correct color will be red since its a fog light, not a reverse light. 02-04 MINIs used the spot for the reverse light, but they moved the reverse light up to the taillights in 05-06.

How-to attached for you to check out what would be involved on the install...

Thanks all as the latter being 06 where it "should be" red fog, I kinda like the reverse. Then the coding-nearest dealer in either direction is in hour away :(
