AutoPower roll bar for sale

Autopower bolt-in roll bar for MINI from IO Port Racing. SCCA legal.

I ordered this, and have decided not to put it in my car. It is brand new - never used or mounted in a car. It has both the removable harness bar and diagonal bar options. All mounting hardware and backing plates included.

I'm asking $400 OBO.

Local Pickup only - this thing weighs a good bit, and shipping would be a killer.

I just wanted to chime in that this is a really well built and designed bar. I have one in my car and have installed 2 others for customers and all were well done.

just curious, are rear seats still "useable"? also, how much drilling is involved?

Randy - thanks for the input ( and the bump!). It is a very nice bar.

discodan - looks like four holes at each "foot" of the bar would need to be drilled (four feet x four holes - 16 total) to bolt the bar in. I haven't actually put the bar in the car, but I'm assuming with the removable bar options, that the rear seats would be "useable." Now whether or not I'd feel comfortable putting someone back there as a passenger with the steel bars is another matter...

I did buy the bar with the removable bar options with the hopes that I'd still be able to use the rear seat area to haul my race tires and other track "junque."

Without the harness ( cross ) bar in place the back seats are totally usefull. There is a total of 6 holes needed in the front and 8 in the rear to bolt the unit in and it does come with backing plates for added strength. The one trick needed to remember is that on the drivers side front mount there is a group of wires that branch off from the harness and shoot rite under where the base mounts in. Be sure to locate and pull those to the side prior to drilling.

I've got an Auto Power bar in my car as well. One thing not mentioned here is whether the bar for sale is for a car with or without sunroof. This is very important.
They sent me a bar for non sunroof and I had to take almost 2" off and reweld the mounting plates on the front. Other than that, installation is a pain in the ***, but very doable. I use the rear seats on occasion and only install the cross bars when needed. Use plenty of roll bar padding (it looks good too), and you won't have any worries

Roll bar is for a non-sunroof model as far as I know.

I read that wrong initially - I thought you were going to USE it in your 4-Runner... heh.

I'll need to take some measurements when I get home - but it "should" fit. Do you have a roof rack for your 4-Runner?

Just bring the Mini down - we'll slap it on your roof rack!

Depends on how much the rack will hold. The bar with all of the pieces attached is probably close to 70lbs I'd guess. Will the rack handle that? If not, we could take the diagonal, harness bar and rear legs off to lighten it a bit. I'll measure when I get home to give you an idea of the size.

Here's the measurements - Widest point of the roll bar is 46-7/8". Height is almost the same at about 47". The bar is about 10" deep with the rear braces removed.

Could it be shipped? Do you have boxing materials? 48x48x12? I know it can be a PITA....

It *could* be shipped - but I'd rather not. Boxing it up isn't so much the issue (I'd just wrap the tubes with bubble wrap and slap a label on it) - it's just that it's too big to be shipped UPS, so it has to go by trucking company - the way I received it (probably looking at $125 - $150 in shipping alone). I'd rather if someone really wants it - they just come pick it up and save us both the hassle.

Where are you located?

I'll watch the thread....if you can't sell it, I have several freight company accounts I can inquire with. Thanks.

Hmmm... not sure. You could probably contact the folks at Autopower, and they could tell you for sure. I imagine the car is new enough, they may not even know.
