$27.00 at the pump!

that's the most money I've pumped into Zane Grey in 2+ years of ownership (12.24 Gallons-22 miles showing on "range"). What's the most you have put in?

i believe i put in $28+ just this past tuesday. no computer, but my mini odo for this tank read 325 miles. that's for a jcw with some xtras in hawaii. filled up at costco too. with the receipt reading ~12.8 gallons? i was sure i was running on fumes, but guess there were a few more drops left in the tank.

13.33 gallons at $2.489 per gallon ended up being $33.18 think I had one just a tad bit higher then that but don't remember quite what it was.

Course this is also out here in Hawaii.

In my local paper this morning, (South Bend Tribune), in the business section is an article about fuel economy which lists the MINI Cooper 5 speed as one of the best!

The article is by Dee-Ann Durbin of the Associated Press.

According to to the article:
Highest fuel economy two seater: Honda Insight
Highest fuel economy minicompact car: Mini Cooper 5- speed
Highest fuel economy compact car: Honda Civic Hybred
Highest fuel economy midsize car: Toyota Prius

Now, she misspelled MINI as Mini and might have created a category just for us, "minicompact", but it's good to be recognized for the smart buyers we are!

Godspeed.

$50.00 of 100 octane race fuel @ $5.49 gl. There is nothing sweeter than the smell of race fuel exhaust.

I think I've been close to $30 before when I could not find a cheap station to go to.

Agro, I too have been way over the alleged 13.2 capacity of the tank. You must have been really low but I think they also must have fudged the capacity a little since it seems impossible to put in a half gallon in the fuel filler and that assumes there was absolutely nothing in the actual tank.

I think the most was about $26. I usually pump gas before it hits rock

bottom...so. I also pump at a station in more of a rural area where gas prices are much lower.

i think i may have hit 28 or 29 once. but when you live in cali and gas is anywhere from 2.17 to 2.70 a gal, it is very easy to do.

i just wish i could be posting the least amount i have spent , and not the most, lol

I just put 13.97 gallons in and the OBC said range was 2 miles. That was too close for comfort . Price was $2.49 but can't remember the total. My F-150 is always over $50 so I'm used to regular gas beatings. It also gets about 15 mpg so I'm not overly concerned with the mid 20's I've been getting in the S, but I've been driving him for fun and not fuel economy.

Life is good topless,
Mike

When I get just below a half-tank I always top off, a psychological thing I guess. Today it was 6 gallons @$1.96/gal, P-66 91 (highest we get here), $11.80. Jimbo

I was driving around S.F. and the closer you get to downtown the higher the prices. I actually saw a station that had $3.00 for premium! Darn Shell stations!

Get ready for $60/barrel crude people... The world's going to have a very interesting scenario next summer based on the current trend. $3.00/gallon premium will be normal in most of the U.S., I suspect

Yeah, last night before a San Fran night tour I put in more than $28 for a tank. It's just a matter of years before we are paying what the rest of the world is...

DO you notice a heck of a difference with the rocket fuel? I was under the impression that the computer adjusts to maintain/compensate for higher octanes to maintain compression ratios, etc.
