So... I had a mini and lost her (sad story involving a girl), and have wanted another ever since... IT is now time. I have had my eye on the 06 GP for the longest time but I have noticed that the 13 GPs can be found at a relatively good price considering the 06 GPs are still getting almost $20k...
I loved the style of my 04 mini when I had it and love the feel of a supercharger. I love the rigid feel of the older ones and I think they look better
. But can I still get the pure driving feel out of a 13, or am I going to notice something is missing and it feels too much like a BMW...
Let me know what you all have had experience with.
Thanks.

Both are nice cars. There are others, that I am included in, which are more into taking an older S or JCW and doing some mods so that the end result is better than the GPs at a lower cost. At least in our opinion.
If you are into special models and letters, than go with the best car (normally newest) that you can afford.

Never drove an 06, but I can tell you that until 2014 F series no MINI feels like a BMW to me. I like the F btw, some BMW refinement but you still know it's a lot different. Kind of reminds me of my 80's 3 series which was the most fun on wheels I've ever had.
Its funny I was just telling my wife that after thinking about it, I would rather have a base S model and modify it to feel so much better than a GP. In all about special editions and all that but I want a drivers car for now. I have a retired show CRZ right now and hate the limitations... I havr such an itch for scca!!!!
+1 on the GP1, but if you can find a great price on the GP2 that would be a good choice.

As a person that owns both a GP1 and GP2 I can tell you I love them both, but they are two different cars. It's like picking which kid you like the most. So best advice I can give is test drive both and form your own opinion.
I have a very well built R53, and had a GP2 - and they are very different animals.
