Prestige MINI messed up my order!!!! WRONG COLOR

OK -- so what should I do? They got my color all wrong! Can I get my deposit back? I refuse to wait another 8 weeks for my car. 16 weeks for a car? Hell no.

yes, of course you can get your deposit back. a few years ago when the mini first came out i ordered one from prestige but then had a financial problem and they refunded my money right away, no problem. too bad about the mix-up, though. maybe you should check westchester (elmsford) mini? it's where i ended up getting mine, they had exactly what i wanted on the lot.

Holy Moly...that more than just sucks. I'd be fumin' if that happened to me. To wait all that time, and then have them screw up the order. I'd be looking to get more than just my rufund back. I'd expect some sort of compensation for waiting that long, for nothing. Then take my business elsewhere. Better luck hunting down something else.
Cheers,

What was the color you ordered and what color did prestige end up getting in? I was going to order from Prestige, they are supposededly one of the best dealers in the country? Just curious, where do you think the error was made? Did Prestige put the correct order in? Was it wrong from the get go? Did your MA make the mistake? I was at Ottos in PA over the summer and saw an '05 getting prepared for delivery. I noticed that the front had Chrome line ext. but the back was painted, no chrome I told one of the MA and they were shocked I hope this kind of thing is not the norm

Bummer. I would think they would have to give you back your deposit since they can't deliver the car you ordered.

I put a deposit down on my first MC in December of 2001 and picked up the car in August of 2002. Nine months and it was worth the wait.

Prestige is a great dealership and I am sure that they will do everything they can to make your situation go your way. I would ask to speak with Augie (general manager) because if anyone can make things ok , he is the man. As for Westchester MINI......I have not been happy with any of my dealings. Before you go on line and create a huge stink I would try and go the "what are you going to do for me route". Prestige has gone the extra mile on more than one occasion for me and many of my friends. Play nice and you will come out ahead my friend......trust me on this one.

Yeah, I guess I had a little panic attack. My MA's first suggestion was to order a new one, and it could be here in 4 weeks. Which I don't believe. But we shall see. I'm just really upset that I waited all this time to get a car that didn't meet my specs. Another thing that didn't help was the fact that he never answered any of my emails. They are nice people though, I'll give them that.

I ordered my Mini from Prestige last year- waited 3 months- but was well worth the wait- and they have been great! Free car washes forever- always take care of any problems right away-it is upsetting- but keep it in perspective- 4 weeks is nothing compared to years of happy motoring!

Why should I wait 9 months if I don't have to? I don't have a car anymore. I'm sure you were driving something while you waited.

"You didn't order the family truckster? In metallic pea?"

Sorry - not making light of your situation. Perhaps a nice discount is in order for you? Can you live with the color that was brought in instead? Did you ever check the owners lounge to be sure your specs were correct?

You know, I love this car so much that I would wait 9 months for it if I had to, shoot - even a year. Would maybe run a beat up Civic in the process. Perhaps you are just not in love with the car the way the rest of us enthusiasts are.

I agree that Prestige messed up, and I'm sure they will do whatever they can to make it right. Ask for a loaner for four weeks. But if you are truly enamored with the MINI, you will wait for it. I have no other suggestions as to what other car would be suitable...

My HB/White MCS was supposed to have the Lapis Blue leather interior and the HB dash/ interior bits. When I got the car this weekend the interior was that wierd brushed aluminum. Drove 560mi over the next two days and it doesn't bother me at all anymore.

The dealer also didn't set the software features after having the car on the lot for 10 days and calling to confirm how I wanted everything set.

Then again, if my HB MCS that I waited 2 1/2 months for came out pink I'd be extremely pissed.

I know this wasn't directed to me, but I also waited nine months for my first MINI. My lease was up on my prior car (Saab 9-3), so I had to turn it in 6 weeks before I got the MINI. I took the bus for those 6 weeks and it was still worth it.

That's just me, though. You have to do what makes you happy.

I'll take the car, it's not THAT bad.. I must emphasize that they do have a great staff. Mistakes happen, it was probably at the factory. Regardless, I'm picking up my car next week or so.

Cheers

I was under the impression that no one had yet received a hyper blue interior dash and trim. In fact I thought that colored dashes were limited to chili red, liquid yellow, cool blue and orange. If you ordered a hyper-blue interior, they could not fill that order under any circumstances.

I've seen one in person so I sure hope that I'm not THAT crazy. Too bad the one I saw wasn't on my car :-(
