New owner has question about seat fitment

Do other model seats fit the Clubman? I have a 2014 Clubman with leatherette seats and here in Florida, they seem awful hot. Would prefer leather, but am not sure how wide I can cast the net in looking for a replacement pair of front seats. Mine is a 2014 Clubman S.

I have a 2011 Clubman that came with the vinyl seats. I found someone on this site who had a set of leather and cloth seats out of a Mini coupe and had them installed on my car. Mini uses the same seat frames on all second generation minis except the convertible. The foam or the padding in the seats is part of the seat cover. So in my case, I went from a standard vinyl seat to a leather /cloth sport seat. I also purchased the seat lumbar support assembly and had it installed when they changed out my seat covers. I paid 300 for an auto upholsterier to change the seat covers out and install the lumbar support.

You could also just buy the whole seat frame with covers from a junk yard. They are very easy to take out and install, but you need to make sure you disconnect the battery first, so the air bags do not go off. What I did was take the seats out and take them and the sport seat covers to the upholsterer to make the swap out.

Good luck. And if you want a used set of vinyl seat covers, I have mine for sale, JUST KIDDING. Also, I only did the front seats and no one has ever mentioned the front don't match the back.

you could always get an aftermarket re-upholstery covers in leather. katzkin.com is one popular offering, and probably nicer leather than the OEM covers.

Thanks. There is a nice set of R56 leather seats nearby that may work, and a set of R60 (which are Countryman seats and may not work).

not to thread hijack, but I agree with the leatherette seats being too hot. I'm looking for options as my first upgrade

That’s just what I did. I found some nice used leather seats at a used parts dealer. They feel a whole lot better.

I have a 2013 Clubman and am curious if seats from a 2015-16 Mini would fit? This is just a curiosity.

I am not an expert on this, but I think the problem may not be fitment, but electronics. From what I was able to figure out, all of the seats (essentially) prior to the model change in late 2014 were interchangeable, and it is just a matter of bolting them into the seat runners and plugging in the small wiring harness for each seat. From what I understand, the wiring differs on the later post-2014 seats, and it takes some fiddling to get everything correct.

I have the interior from my F56 for sale. From the JCW interior option w/heated seats. They're a little dusty in the pics. It's listed in the classified section.

I like those seats and think they would look better in my Clubman, but not sure they would fit the seat rails, etc. I can make the electrics work together without a problem, just not sure about the other fitment issues.

Did MINI make sport seats without the heated option? Would I run into problems connecting seats with the option, into a vehicle without the heated seats option?

They offer them with and without heat. If the plug is the same there shouldn't be a problem. If you're not talking about the same generation car you can always pick up the connector/harness from a salvage outfit like Allmag and splice into your existing harness.

Yes, I have sport seats that are not heated. There are probably to electrical hook ups if you have heated seats. One for the heat and one for the airbag. You should be able to just hook the airbag connector and leave the other one disconnected. One other option is just to have a uphostery shop to just switch the seat covers. see my earlier post above. I found a set of sport seat covers for sale ( owner replaced the covers with all leather). My car had the standard non sport vinyl seats and he replace the covers, now I have sport seats on my mini. They use the same frame , only the seat covers with attached pads are different.
