R50/53 Question for all you city folk.
Question for all you city folk.
Tomorrow I pick up my first new car ever. A 2005 Pure Silver, Black Roof, Premium/Sport/Cold Package, CVT Cooper... and WINNIE is her name.
I live in Brooklyn, NY and I was wondering if any of you MINI owners who live in cities and parallel park on the street use any sort of bumper protection (insert innuendo here)? Or, are the bumpers pretty good to handle the streets of Brooklyn?
Also, any newbie tips are greatly appreciated.
Setting the alarm early to grab the first train out to the Hamptons to pick up "Winnie"... wish me luck,

If they can handle the streets of DC, they can handle the streets of New York I would think.
Congrats on your new smile maker...
Chow! (and yes - I know the correct spelling)

I live in Boston but have a private spot. There are lots on MINIs on the streets nearby. Unofrtunately the cars are so low that most things backing into them will clear the bumpers anyway and scratch other areas.
If you absolutely have to park on the street, I'd just try to stay away from hills and park at the beginning or end of the block.
