Anybody have any luck with using a replacement turbocharger from ebay?

They seem to be a fair bit cheaper than the recommended ones from ECS, Pelican, WMW, etc... as are in other threads (including mine)

I, personally, when installing eBay turbos on multiple different makes haven't had much luck. Unless you can confirm the brand of the turbo, and even looking at the pricing they offer for them, I'd pass. I had one give on me on the dyno and cause more damage. With items like turbos, I wouldn't cheap out on them. Personal experience/opinion of course.

BorgWarner is a great brand for turbos and I have had a lot of luck with their turbochargers if you don't want to go with the Genuine MINI brand: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item0.

NO avoid them as extended warranty companies always try to get us to use these and the never fit right, are loose out of the box, or just dump oil as soon as you start them up.
So we only use the originals in our shop.
