Excretions From Rear Window Wiper Assembly: 05 MCS

I have continually noticed some excretions from my rear window wiper assembly--not real easy to remove. It "stains" the chrome right below it and proceeds to the painted finish above the rear MINI logo on my 5 week old MCS. Seems to be more prominent after using the rear wiper during a rain shower--not using the window washer. Anyone else notice this? Feedback appreciated. Thanks. Nick

Mmmmm, it could be the wiper blade that picked up some gooey substance or you have grease in the rear window (Could be in the environment, probably you park in an industrial area, airport, etc).

My suggestion would be to wash and dry the car and then clean that hatch glass real good with a mixture of vinegar and water. You need to get the grease out. Also carefully clean the wiper blade to ensure that no gunk is stuck to it.

Try cleaning the back window and if it doesn't work take it back to the dealer and ask for a rear wiper blade replacement under warranty.

I noticed the same problem this weekend while washing. Little streek down the back right to my logo will be brought up when I hit the dealer next month.
I think there is a little leak from the rear washer b/c I don't park where any of the afore mentioned things would be an issue.

I find that when I use my rear wiper, that dirt leaks out of the chrome at the bottom of the window. If the car is freshly washed and I have rinced out the chrome of dirt it is fine, but because I motor on lots of gravel roads, it shows up all the time.Nick if looks like something other than dirt, dust, take the car into the dealer,I had the rear wiper motor replaced after about 6 months or so,would slow to a stop, after a few wipes.

Hmmm... They have redesigned the rear wiper. Maybe there is a problem with it?

I've got a similar issue on my 04/04 MCS. Since new, it looks like the washer nozzle on back wiper leaks a bit. Always has dry residue on the little cup area around the nozzle (without using the wash feature), and it is "Very" difficult to get it off the black plastic wiper. They must use a rather strong chemical for the cleaner. I may change the blue cleaner to a different brand. I had a similar problem on a prior car where the seal in the nozzle was poor, and the wind going over the nozzle reacted like a vacuum, and would cause the nozzle to leak a little.Sounds like I may have the same issue you originally described. I was waiting to bring it up at first service, but if the chemical stains the chrome or paint, I'll have to watch more closely.

I had this same problem =[ I noticed it a few days after getting the car. Seems to have gone away but I haven't used the rear wipers so I don't know.

I also noticed this happening to my 05 MCS. It stopped after a couple of weeks, but was very annoying, especially after just washing the car and then closing the hatch and all sorts of leakage from the washer nozzle.

I had the same thing happen on my MINI. It seemed to be like a offwhite type of substance. Anyhoo...I used Stoners Trim Shine and a little elbow grease, and wala, no more.
