In need of some R53 modding advice.

I'm currently daily driving an '06 MCS with Alta CAI, 17% pulley, MSD wires and ignition, Alta air diverter, and DIY 2 1/4" catback exhaust. I've ordered a Alta catback to replace the one I'm currently running, but what's the next best bang for the buck mod?

I have no intentions of tracking the car, and don't want to throw a lot of money at it since I'll likely be selling it soon.

My guess is either the Alta lightweight crank pulley, catless DP, or maybe a header? I've already got a set of 380cc injectors, so I'm ready to get a custom dyno tune as soon as any other relevant mods are installed. I'd rather get the dyno tune after modding as much as I plan to go.

FWIW, the MCS also has lowering springs and lightweight wheels.

For engine mods I'd forget the lightweight crank pulley, and would normally say, do your 380's, Header & Cam or Adjusted Cam Gear, then tune.

But, if you're selling the car soon, skip the Cam or Cam Gear, these require the custom tune and may not be great for explaining to the next owner that he absolutely can't take the car to the dealer for any ECU updates (even accidental)

Thanks for your response. I'd rather pass on the cam or adjustable gear due to it likely moving the end of summer. How about going with the header, 380's, and tune? Is the the catless DP worth the money/effort?

Personally, I don't think CATless is worth the money or the chance of issues, esp if you're going to custom tune.
Not to mention the additional db's of sound from the Header alone.

From experience, I'd go with a rear sway bar. You'll be glad you did.

How many miles on your car?

Unless you can find your long lost twin brother (that would like what you have done), you most likely will get pennies on the dollar for any mod you have on the car. what we think our cars our worth and what we can sell them for are usually not the same. IMO if you are going to sell the car, don't do any mods and save the money for your next one.

Nice looking car.

Thanks to you all for the information. I really should just enjoy it the way it is, and leave it alone. Actually, I think I'll do just that.

I broke down and bought a used Alta catback exhaust from Ebay, since the drone of the current exhaust is driving me crazy. I think I'll leave it alone after the exhaust, and just enjoy driving the car. We might take it on vacation in a couple weeks if I can get a set of golf clubs in it.

The biggest bang for the buck mod for sure would be a rear sway bar.

But an ATI damper crank pulley would be not a great mod, but also and upgrade to keep the stock one from failing as they are prone to die.
