Who Leaves Their Back Seats Down?

I have mine down--better exhaust sound--I think. Any problems leaving them down--over time? Thanks. Nick

We've had ours down almost the entire time we've owned the car (over 2 years). The few times that we HAVE put the seats up - no issues - no problemos.... Seems we are always loading up the back with something - it's just easier to keep the seats down all the time.

Chow!

My 9 year old son likes to keep one seat down so that he can climb in there and try to hide from me .......he weighs over a hundred pounds.

Depends on your upholstery. I have the leather, and after my first 6-week roadtrip, where the seats were always down, it left impressions in the leather. So now, when I have to put them down for longer than a day, or with a load on them, first I pad them with a blanket that I always keep in the boot. That has solved the divotage! LOL!

I always have my air compressor and some other cleaning supplies in
the boot (quick detailer and towels, etc) so I like to keep my rear seats up
and hide them away.

Oh yes! I keep loads of microfiber cloths and quick detailer and my NAM hoodie sweatshirt and sundry car care goodies back in the boot! LOL! So I, too, prefer to keep the seats up and the privacy shelf in place!

I've actually gotten my bike into the MINI when I had the seats down!

Like Clo said, when you have leather seats, it's best to lay something down between the seats. Otherwise, you'll get some impressions in the leather.

I'm coming up on a year of ownership and have never had the seats in the down position! I don't even think I could put them down without referencing the owner's manual.

with tinnitus,(and even with a stock MCS exhaust,) I find that the extra noise of the seats down is more than I can tolerate (especially on the highway),so, although I put them down all the time to carry stuff,I always put them right back up when I'm done .For the same reason, I've even come to the sad decision that I'm not sure I can live with the high pitched whistle(not the supercharger whine, the noise given off by the throttle bodies at low openings) given off by the Alta CAI foam filter,so I'll probably be replacing that with a K&N filter to see if I get any relief there too .

With the rear seats out/down, my car needs to be driven with ear plugs! The SS header, cat-less, Magnaflow set-up is deafening inside the car. When I have my kids in the car, I stuff the boot full with moving blankets to deaden the sound....it works great.

What?........................what?................ ....did someone say something?.....speak up!

I keep my rear seats up - I prefer the finished aesthetic. Another reason is my Schroth harnesses; the seats need to be either up, or out.

I've had my seats down for most of 2 years now  , using the rear rubber mat and the mat that covers the rear seats when they're down. Love it !

Also have the BMP intake and the Milltek header and exhaust - not too loud, but nice sounding! ...... never have the seats up, so haven't noticed any difference!

Rear seats down rubs the front seats in my normal driving position and the sound of the rubbing is annoying. I guess I could put something between the two, but it's easier to keep the rear seats up, when rear storage is not an issue...

take them out completely and save 50lbs.

42 for the seat and 8 for the saftey belts.

DO IT.

i opted for bass in the back seat region.

I find that the back end of my car squeaks way too much with the seats down. I guess I'll have to pick up the Pilo rear sway bar.
