Why.......... it would be so expensive to make this work. You would have to at the very least have custom intake horns from the carbs to the charger fabricated, have to ditch the whole ignition system to go stand alone, plus pay someone to do the tuning, fuel mileage would prolly be cut in half, and you would make less power.

And I doubt even if it ran that it would pass emissions tests in most states.

Didn't even think about that, I don't have emissions here to remember to add that into discussions when people ask stuff like this lol.

I don't understand why you would ever want carbs on these cars???
I am sure you could do it, but the can that it would put it into creep mode are high.
If you want it to go faster put 380 injectors in it. A better performance cam, etc.

Someone, long ago, around 2004, put a couple of side draught carbs on a Cooper, the 4 intake trumpets or velocity stacks pointed straight forward behind the grill. I do not think that it was a street legal car.

I can see this being something fun to do with an R50 but not with forced induction.

You would need special "blow through" style carbs that are calibrated and designed to have boost fed to them....not like a standard carburetor. Special shaft seals, special floats, special power valves. For the cost, fabrication time, tuning time, and headaches it would cause....I don't see one benefit from doing that.
